"An enjoyable ramble . . . the memoir of an unassuming, self-doubting aviator who, despite himself, proved to be pretty bloody good." -Aircrew Book Review Many stories abound of the daring exploits of the RAF's young fighter pilots defying the might of Hitler's Luftwaffe, yet little has been written about the pilots who provided the key evidence that guided the RAF planners-the aerial photographers. Ken Johnson joined No.1 Photographic Reconnaissance Unit as an eighteen-year-old. In this lighthearted reminiscence, he relives his training and transfer to an operational unit, but not the one he had expected. He had asked if he could fly Spitfires. He was granted that request, only to find himself joining a rare band of flyers who took to the skies alone, and who flew in broad daylight to photograph enemy installations with no radios and no armament. Unlike the fighter pilots who sought out enemy aircraft, the pilots of the PRU endeavored to avoid all contact; returning safely with their vital photographs was their sole objective. As well as flying in northern Europe, Ken Johnson was sent to North Africa, where his squadron became part of the United States Army Air Force North West African Photographic Wing (NAPRW). In this role, he flew across southern Europe, photographing targets in France and Italy. The Spy in the Sky fills a much-needed gap in the history of the RAF and, uniquely, the USAAF during the latter stages of the Second World War. "The sorties he flew are nothing less than heroic . . . his writing style is very good, and very humorous at that!" -Flyin' and Ridin' Blog

An American journalist named Ben Harris, who works for Jewish Telegraphic Agency (JTA), is traveling the world in search of stories about Jews in their various communities. This lively interview with Harris, the "Wandering Jew", about his travels and traveling, was done mostly by email, with two conversations via webcam on Skype. When this writer spoke to Harris off the record for background, he was in the Jewish Telegraphic Agency offices in New York City, but the reported interview via email comes mostly while he was abroad. Harris reports in his blog about getting the assignment: "Imagine this: Your boss calls you up one day. He tells you he wants to send you on a trip of many months, pretty much anywhere you want to go to write about ... well, pretty much anything you want to write about. You will be blogging, making videos, Twittering, and writing that old standby, the feature story. Starting now, he says, you are to spend your days scrounging up great stories of Jewish life and dreaming up interesting ways to report them around the world. Amazing, right? "That's more or less the genesis of The Wandering Jew, a new JTA project that will take me across Europe and North America in the coming months, searching out stories that illuminate the many ways people express themselves Jewishly. Along the way, we'll hopefully shed some light on some larger themes of Jewish life in these early years of the 21st century." 1. Language: English. Narrator: Ralph Morocco. La Traque Zéro [The Zero Hunt]: Un Thriller d’E...

French. Olivier Lovero. http://samples.audible.de/bk/acx0/183200/bk_acx0_183200_sample.mp3.

Data Protection And The Business Use Of Social ...

Seminar paper from the year 2016 in the subject Law - Civil / Private / Trade / Anti Trust Law / Business Law, grade: 2,0, University of applied sciences, Munich, language: English, abstract: This assignment provides an overview of the complexity of data protection and the usage of social networks that US-based companies have to deal with. The world wide web has brought many new opportunities for companies to globalize, expand and to make work processes paperless.Looking at the findings conducted for data protection laws it is a big surprise that the US has not implemented a federal data protection act, even though data protection and privacy is seen as a human right for most economically strong countries including Canada and Europe. Thus, the US data protection acts are split into several industries and works in a 'patchwork system'. This system made it more difficult for the US to trade with the European Union before both parties agreed on an EU-US Privacy Shield to protect European customer data. Secondly, this assignment identifies that Social Networks should not be included in the recruitment process of an employer but can be used as a platform for employees to discuss work processes or for the companies to promote its products and services. This is a legal procedure as long as the content posted is not illegal, obscene, incorrect, defamatory or invasive of privacy. The acceptance and openness for the US citizens to freely communicate online is a consequence of Americas 'free speech' philosophy. Additionally, a Business providing its own social network in form of a blog, content community or social media website is not held liable for the content that is being posted by users, however, the service provider has to have a system in place to be able to delete illegal content.
